In modern education it becomes more and more important to use interactive technologies supported by informatics and thus create a playful and interesting way of learning about the world. The goal of this project is to implement the hardware and software of an augmented reality sandbox that is capable of making geography easier and more fun to understand. The system works by using a box full of sand, a Kinect Sensor and a projector to create the topographical map of the sand surface and display it on the sand itself using the conventions of topographical maps. The project can be a base for further applications in any field of life.
